THE NAME THAT WE KNOW
Evening SERVICE, AUGUSt 30, 2020
Rev. Aaron Roberts
In Athens, Paul is invited to speak in the Areopagus. Paul proclaims the One Creator God who is totally sovereign yet not far from his children; who is transcendent but makes himself known to his covenant people. We have the same privilege of proclaiming the God who we have come to know in and through Jesus Christ, the resurrected Lord and Judge of all people.

THE NAME THAT BRINGS FREEDOM
Evening SERVICE, AUGUSt 23, 2020
REV. Ben Roberts
After the Council of Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit leads Paul and his companions to Macedonia. The narrative in Philippi occurs in three scenes: (1) the Lord opens Lydia’s heart to receive the Gospel and she is baptized with her whole household. (2) Paul, in the name of Jesus, commands a spirit to come out of a female servant whose masters were profiting off her spiritual oppression. (3) The Lord frees Paul and Silas from prison and they witness to the terrified Philippian Jailor, who is also baptized with his household. In these scenes we see the freedom Jesus brings.

THE NAME FOR ALL NATIONS
Morning SERVICE, AUGUSt 16, 2020
REV. Jeremy Graham
Who belongs to God’s people? Can someone be saved simply by believing in Jesus? Some Jewish converts insist that Gentile believers also need to follow the Law of Moses to be saved and welcomed into the fellowship of God’s people (15:1). Paul and Barnabas are summoned to Jerusalem to address this pivotal question.
