Current Sermon Series
September 8th - November 17th, 2024
Come with us for the next eleven weeks as we dive into the Gospel of Luke together.
Who is Luke?
“It seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilis, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.” (Luke 1:3–4)
The Gospel of Luke was written by a companion of Paul on his journeys. He was from Antioch, intimate with both gentile and Jewish worlds, and a physician (Col. 4:14). Luke was likely written in the early 60s A.D. He had direct access to eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ life.
What is Luke About?
Luke is about the Kingdom of God and His purpose to bring salvation to the whole world - Jew and Gentile. Luke provides certainty in what has been taught about Jesus and shows how scripture is fulfilled in Jesus. In Luke, salvation is described as release, rescue, and reversal.
